Le gouvernement britannique a lancé le 29 janvier dernier une initiative destinée à donner un nouvel élan au développement de ses smart cities. Dénommé HyperCatCity, ce projet rassemble actuellement les villes de Londres, Bristol et Milton Keynes, et a pour objectif de faire collaborer acteurs publics et privés à la définition de nouveaux services urbains.

The present publication approaches the "Smart City" topic from the perspective of technology policy. The topic is embedded in other acatech activities, like the Smart Cities workshop conducted in Bangalore on 12 November 2010 as part of the German Indian Partnership for IT-Systems (GRIP-IT) project. The objective of this acatech publication is to provide an approach for strategic forecasting and planning of political action.

They hope the data will reveal how to run their cities better and improve urban life. City leaders and technology experts say that managing the growing challenges of cities well and affordably will be close to impossible without smart technology.
Une conférence [1] sur l'Internet des Objets (Internet of Things - [2]) était organisée lundi 27 octobre au National Press Club de Washington, DC. Notre société est littéralement connectée à Internet par tous les objets qui entourent notre quotidien (voiture, télévision, téléphone, etc). Les grands acteurs du Big Data (Google, Verizon, Cisco) étaient très présents et une course est lancée sur le sujet de la domotique et des maisons connectées [3]. Les dépenses de santé et particulièrement celles liées à la silver économie contribuent aussi au développement de l'internet des Objets.
