Spanish consortium to develop green hydrogen production project for decarbonization

Spain based seamless stainless steel pipe producer Tubacex has announced that a consortium of seven companies will jointly develop a research project called HY2DEC in relation to new technologies for the production and use of green hydrogen for the decarbonization of the Spanish carbon-intensive industries such as steel industry.

Chinese auto parts manufacturer begins $30 million plant expansion in Mexico

With an investment of $30 million, Chinese auto parts company Xinquan launched an expansion of its factory in Aguascalientes, Mexico, where it created 600 more jobs, the state government reported.The company Xinquan Mexico Automotive Trim arrived in Aguascalientes in 2021 with an investment of $40 million and two years later, the company reported revenues of $150 million from products such as steel panels for doors, according to the press release citing Tang Zhihua, global president of Xinquan .

MM Board & Paper, Austria, has successfully re-started its KM3 board machine at the Frohnleiten mill after ANDRITZ completed a major rebuild.

The rebuild included several upgrade measures to improve the machine’s performance in line with the customer’s targets.

Making (and Testing) the World’s Greenest Battery

Northvolt’s mission is simple: make the world’s greenest battery. One of the most important aspects of their operation is considering the battery production as a circular process, like a loop. This “loop” goes from sourcing raw materials, through battery production, and to recycling so the active material can be reused to make new batteries (Figure 01). As an example, Northvolt aims at making 95 percent of cell material reusable after end-of-life, thus closing the loop and restarting the process.
