Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) is 2021’s best and brightest comet. Currently (December 11) at magnitude 5, it’s still not visible to the unaided eye (see more on that below). But it’s a good binocular comet, in the sky just before sunup now for Northern Hemisphere observers, soon to be in the evening sky, too (December 14 onwards). By late December and January, it should become visible from Earth’s Southern Hemisphere.
