MAHLE and Midtronics join forces for battery service

MAHLE and Midtronics, Inc., two leaders in the aftermarket service, have agreed to jointly develop service equipment for battery electric vehicles. Both companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This will empower workshops with safe, easy-to-use and effective service for the important Li-ion battery: from battery diagnostics to maintenance, regardless of brand and over the entire life cycle of the batteries and vehicles.  

MAHLE: Thermal management is a growth driver

Efficient thermal management is what makes efficient e-mobility possible in the first place. Heating and cooling in vehicles is an essential technology field for electrification and MAHLE core business. “The sales potential for thermal management in e-cars is three times higher than for vehicles with combustion engines. Thermal management is the driver of electrification at MAHLE,” said Jumana Al-Sibai, member of the Management Board of the MAHLE Group responsible for this business unit. The market for these technologies is growing significantly due to e-mobility.

La economía de Alemania entró en recesión en el primer trimestre de 2023 al sufrir una contracción del 0,3% su producto interior bruto (PIB) y sumarse así una segunda caída consecutiva después del -0,5% del último trimestre del año. La Oficina Federal de Estadística (Destatis) ha revisado a la baja la estimación anterior, que preveía un estancamiento y por lo tanto evitar la recesión técnica, es decir, la acumulación de dos trimestres seguidos de crecimiento negativo.

About 1.23 million vehicles have been axed worldwide so far this year because of the microchip shortage.

Automakers removed 27,240 vehicles from their global production schedules last week because of the unrelenting shortage of microchips, according to the latest estimate by AutoForecast Solutions.

Each region of the world made new factory cuts last week, with plants in Asia outside of China leading the way by trimming 11,672 vehicles. Meanwhile, companies axed 8,510 vehicles at North American assembly plants.
