Management and employee representatives at MAHLE have agreed on a labor agreement to strengthen the future viability of the Group’s German locations. The core of the agreement is a process for the development of future concepts for the individual locations with the participation of the unions and works council as part of the MAHLE transformation dialogue. In addition, the agreement provides for safeguarding employment and qualification for the approximately 10,500 employees.

MAHLE strategy focuses on electrification and systems for thermal management as well as components for highly efficient, green combustion engines
Automotive supplier MAHLE plans to sell its thermostat business to the industrial and investment holding company ADMETOS. The two sides have signed a contract to this effect at the beginning of August. ADMETOS intends to take over development and production with around 600 employees in six countries.
Efficient thermal management is what makes efficient e-mobility possible in the first place. Heating and cooling in vehicles is an essential technology field for electrification and MAHLE core business. “The sales potential for thermal management in e-cars is three times higher than for vehicles with combustion engines. Thermal management is the driver of electrification at MAHLE,” said Jumana Al-Sibai, member of the Management Board of the MAHLE Group responsible for this business unit. The market for these technologies is growing significantly due to e-mobility.
Martin Wellhoeffer succeeds Wilhelm Emperhoff, who is to retire on April 30, 2023.
Wellhoeffer, currently EVP Sales of the Group, will head the Mechatronics and Electronics business unit as Management Board Member from May 1, 2023.
