As China is becoming one of the fastest growing air filtration markets in the world, MANN+HUMMEL expands its air filtration business and plans to acquire a majority stake in Suzhou U-Air Environmental Technology (“U-Air”). The Chinese filtration manufacturer, which is part of Zisun Technology Co., Ltd (SSE: 603601), provides high-quality air filtration products. The acquisition further strengthens MANN+HUMMEL’s presence in China and Southeast Asia, and will also serve customers globally.
The originally targeted issue volume of 100 million euros was significantly oversubscribed thanks to strong interest from both German and international investors. MANN+HUMMEL has therefore decided to increase the volume of the promissory note with sustainability component to a total of 185 million euros. To enable as many investors as possible a participation in the promissory note, individual latecomer tranches were also offered. MANN+HUMMEL is using the proceeds of the transaction to repay existing financial liabilities.
Management and employee representatives at MAHLE have agreed on a labor agreement to strengthen the future viability of the Group’s German locations. The core of the agreement is a process for the development of future concepts for the individual locations with the participation of the unions and works council as part of the MAHLE transformation dialogue. In addition, the agreement provides for safeguarding employment and qualification for the approximately 10,500 employees.
