Quantum technologies have great potential, but most of this potential is still a distant dream at present. Following ten years of research in this field, Bosch is now planning to work with the first pilot customers in the medical and mobility industries on specific applications over the next two years. At the startup Bosch Quantum Sensing, established at the beginning of 2022, some 30 associates are currently focusing on this.
Bosch is realigning its Building Technologies division: in the future, the division is to focus on its regional integrator business, with solutions and services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation. The company plans to sell most of the Building Technologies division’s product business. This includes the Video, Access and Intrusion, and Communication business units, and affects some 4,300 associates at more than 90 locations worldwide. Bosch is now looking for a buyer who will take on all three business units together with their associates and locations.
Bosch Power Tools plans to acquire nearly 50 percent shares of the FerRobotics Compliant Robot Technology GmbH, one of the leading global providers in the field of contact-sensitive automation, with headquarters in Linz, Austria, and further distribution locations in the U.S. and China. Agreements to this effect were signed by Bosch Power Tools and FerRobotics on September 29, 2023. ”With the planned equity share in FerRobotics, we are opening up new market segments in the accessories business and are systematically driving our growth”, says Thomas Donato, President of Bosch Power Tools.
