La nueva edición de MONDRAGON Green Community identificó nuevas propuestas de valor en el marco de la “economía verde”.

El pasado 12 de febrero se desarrolló en el Palacio Otalora una nueva edición de MONDRAGON Green Community, a la que asistieron cerca de 20 personas procedentes de diversas cooperativas: Fagor Ederlan, Centro Stirling, Biurrarena, Ulma, MSI, LKS, MU, Ondoan, MCC Telecom, ISEA, Batz, Domusa, Isoleika.

La sesión fue inaugurada por Eva Larrea y Julián Gallardo, directora general y director de proyectos de MONDRAGON Eko. Y a continuación se presentaron cuatro proyectos. Aitor Jauregui, director técnico de MCC Telecom expuso el proyecto europeo WEEE Trace.

Declining Business Dynamism in the U.S. High-Technology Sector.

A new white paper from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation shows sustained declines in business dynamism across a wide swath of the U.S. economy, including the high-tech sector that has been critical for sparking economic growth in recent decades.

The report found indicators of sluggish high-tech entrepreneurship and business dynamism after 2000. The slowdown was particularly evident in the declining trends of both job creation and job destruction from about 2004 onward. Taken together, job creation and job destruction are indicators of the business churning associated with dynamic economic activity.

The Foundation unveiled a new initiative geared toward fostering a more broad-based entrepreneurial economy at its fifth annual State of Entrepreneurship Address.

Healthcare VC Snapshot: Venture Capital Funding Hits $6.4B in 2013; Ends on Strong Note.

As venture-backed IPO activity for biotech companies hit a fever pitch in 2013 and remain hot in 2014, venture capital investments into the healthcare sector also saw momentum — hitting $6.4 billion across 550 deals last year. While healthcare VC funding and deals tallies fell 2% and 7% on a year-over-year basis, 2013 ended on a strong note, as healthcare VC funding saw its best quarter of the year in Q4 after a slide in Q3.

MGEP organiza el WORKSHOP HORIZON 2020: RETOS SOCIALES - Vida Cotidiana de las personas

Organizado por MGEP – MU y en el marco de las actividades del proyecto KIMUBERRI (subvencionado por el Departamento Innovación, Desarrollo Rural y Turismo de la Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa), hemos previsto el desarrollo del WORKSHOP HORIZON 2020: DAILY LIFE. El objetivo de este Workshop es identificar espacios de oportunidad para nuevos negocios en el ámbito del HORIZON 2020: RETOS SOCIALES - Vida cotidiana de las personas, sobre la base de la labor prospectiva realizada por los alumnos del Máster en Innovación Empresarial y Dirección de Proyectos de MGEP – MU y contando con la participación tanto de empresas como de profesores-investigadores de MGEP.

For more than a decade, the medical technology (medtech) sector has outperformed the overall capital market in terms of financial performance. It has generated a total shareholder return (TSR) of 279 percent since 2001, substantially beating the MSCI World Index, which returned 98 percent over the same period. (See Exhibit 1.) Over the past several years, in particular, medtech companies have performed extremely well. From 2009 through the second quarter of 2013, the sector generated a TSR of 14.8 percent per year.

Microsoft Ventures Paris Showcases 9 Startups At Its Demo Day.

Today at the Palais des Congrès, Microsoft held its first demo day in front of investors and journalists. Investors in the room included well-known business angels, such as Xavier Niel, Marc Simoncini and Jacques Antoine Granjon — they took the stage for a short panel and gave advice to the startup teams in the room.
