Commission reports setback for Galileo project.

The European Commission who had called an “historic milestone” the launch of two satellites of the Galileo program, an EU replica of the US global positioning satellite system, Monday (25 August) asked the agencies responsible to provide full details over their failure to put them into orbit.

On 22 August, satellites 5 and 6 of the Galileo program failed to reach the correct orbit. Hours before that, the EU executive had called the operation “a milestone” and had stated that “the EU is turning our huge investment in space into concrete results”.

Etxebizitza baten kontsumo energetikoa erabiltzaileen esku jarriko dute Ikerlan, Acede eta Ekitermik-ek

Hirurek, Arrasateko Udalarekin batera, EnerBIZI proiektua jarriko dute martxan, etxebizitza bateko kontsumo energetikoaren datuak erabiltzailearen esku jarriko dituena. Ekitermikeko Jagoba Bergarak azaldu digunez, dagoeneko instalazio handietan dagoen teknologia erabiltzaile arrunten esku jartzea da helburua.

Barne Ekintzailetza eta Berrikuntza Irekian Master programa (MINN) Indian hasiko da 2015ean.

MINN Mondragon Team Academy (MTA)-Mondragon Unibertsitateak sortutako master programa bat da. Programa hau  3 nazioarteko kokapenetan garatuko da urtero (Europa, Txina eta India).

MINN Programa 2010ean hasi zen Euskal Herrian, eta Mondragon Korporazioko Ezagutza Taldearen babesa jaso du, beti ere beren erakundeak eraldatzeko gai izango diren lider exekutiboak sortzeko helburuarekin, bai berrikuntza proiektuen bitartez enpresa berriak sortuz(ekintzailetasuna) edota spin-offen bitartez (barne ekintzailetza).

LKS Energy eta ENEL enpresek lehenengo lankidetza egonkortu dute Txilen

LKS Energy eta ENEL GREEN POWER enpresak adostasun batera iritsi dira Chañares izeneko parke fotovoltaiko bat garatzeko Txilen, Atakama lurraldean, Diego Almagro komunan, zehatz-mehatz esateko.

40 MW inguruko proiektu hau LKS enpresak Txilen egindako lehenengo aurrerapausoa da, energia-proiektu garrantzitsuen eremuan. Uztailean hasi zituzten lanak, eta aurreikusita dago 2014 amaitu baino lehen bete daitezela.

The Internet of Things will be vulnerable for years, and no one is incentivized to fix it.

The Internet is no longer just accessible from your laptop or mobile phone. It’s now part of television sets, baby monitors, ovens and cars. It is increasingly embedded into medical devices and other critical devices. The Internet is everywhere and the Internet of Things (IoT) is a trend that will continue to grow.

Wireless Power for Minuscule Medical Implants.

Medical implants like pacemakers, deep brain stimulators, and cochlear implants could someday be joined by still more bioelectronic gadgets—devices that regulate insulin levels, control appetite, lower blood sugar, or treat brain injuries (see “Nerve-Stimulating Implant Could Lower Blood Pressure”).

But before we’re all riddled with electronics, researchers have to figure out how to power it all. Pacemaker batteries are too clunky for tiny devices saddled up to nerves, and existing wireless methods, such as those used for cochlear implants, won’t work with devices buried deep in the body.

Remedy Bets That Google Glass Will Find Its Sweet Spot In The Medical Industry.

While Google Glass has generated a healthy debate over privacy, etiquette and whether the device will ever gain broader acceptance in society, there are some obvious specialty use cases for Glass.

Remedy, a startup founded by two sisters who are a Thiel fellow and medical student, is betting that doctors will find Google Glass useful in quickly collecting and piecing together case data on patients.
