Is there room for another Web company based on the “sharing economy” business model?
Entrepreneur Matt Doran thinks so. Doran is the founder of Advntur, a San Diego startup launched in January to help athletes and sports enthusiasts connect with like-minded people elsewhere who are willing to give them a place to stay, share their gear, or perhaps even serve as a guide or training partner.

Suman un total aproximado de 5.400 millones de eruros en el periodo entre 2012 y 2014.

The day before the start of the Internet of Things World conference in San Francisco, Mode is unveiling its cloud-based IoT platform and announcing a new $775,000 seed funding round.
Mode says it serves as a virtual backend team for IoT companies. Through the cloud platform, it handles all backend services, such as user and device management and secure real-time access control.
Mode says its platform provides an intuitive cloud application programming interface (API) for devices, mobile clients, and application servers. IoT developers can utilize Mode as the backend infrastructure throughout the development cycle, from prototyping to product launch.
When technology-driven businesses disrupt an industry, the business model is the key to the disruption — not the technology.
That’s a central takeaway from a chat I recently had with Liza Landsman, chief customer officer at Montclair, New Jersey-based startup Jet.com, and Scott Friend, managing director at Bain Capital Ventures. Bain is an investor in Jet, currently in closed beta but on course to release a retailer platform that will — you know — disrupt that industry.
