It’s fall, and to a segment of Michigan’s population, that means one thing: The start of hunting season. A Grand Rapids, MI-based hunting-tech startup, Sportsman Tracker, unveiled a new mobile app late last month at San Francisco’s TechCrunch Disrupt conference in anticipation of the season, and company CEO Jeff Courter says the app’s algorithm is “the most accurate and advanced prediction formula available.”
23andMe has raised a substantial $115 million in a series E round led by Fidelity Management and Research Company, with participation from new investors Casdin Capital, WuXi Healthcare Ventures, and Xfund, as well as existing investors such as Google Ventures.
The personal genomics and biotechnology company was founded in 2006 by Linda Avey and Anne Wojcicki, wife of Google cofounder Sergey Brin. The Mountain View, Calif.-based company had already raised $126 million prior to today’s announcement, and boasts a slew of big-name investors, including Google, Google Ventures, Sergey Brin, and Yuri Milner.

The San Francisco-based company has raised $25 million, funding that it will use to sharpen its focus on Internet of Things applications and hardware as well as clean energy and social collaboration.

It turns data from many different sources into trends and insights. The startup raised $3.4 million from Alven Capital and business angels.
Israel’s technology scene has produced a number of successful startups in recent years, including Waze, which was acquired and exited $2.3B. US investors like Lightspeed Venture Partners and Battery Ventures have also been active in this market.
