Telensa is quite possibly a U.K. tech success story you haven’t heard of. The company, which develops ‘smart city’ solutions has made a land grab in its home country and is looking distinctively like the domestic leader in smart street lighting, as local governments seek ways to reduce energy consumption.
But Telensa is also outward looking and has sold its wares in 8 countries including in China, Russia, the Middle East, and the U.S., in addition to the U.K. — comprising of rolling out over 50 networks based on its Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology. Or a footprint of over 1 million streetlights, the company tells TechCrunch.

Beginning as a Kickstarter project in 2013, the startup has been entirely self-funded, and now offers a variety of custom diving and surfing suits ranging anywhere from $265 to $595.

Seat se ha adjudicado la producción del nuevo Audi A1, que se montará en exclusiva en la planta española de Martorelll, según ha confirmado el presidente del comité de empresa, Matías Carnero.

General Motors (GM) has reportedly acquired what remains of former ridesharing provider Sidecar. In addition to incorporating Sidecar’s technology, the car manufacturer will bring about 20 employees over to bolster its own efforts in the space.
According to Bloomberg, the exact figures of the deal weren’t disclosed, but it was likely less than the $39 million Sidecar raised when it was still in existence. What’s also noteworthy is that among the personnel being kept on is Sidecar cofounder and CEO Jahan Khanna. However, chief executive Sunil Paul has opted not to make the move to GM.
