KAUST reveals details of 33.7%-efficient perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell

In a new scientific paper, researchers from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia presented the 33.7%-efficient perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell announced in May last year. They explained the device is based on a perovskite additive known as tetrahydrotriazinium that reportedly enhances the phase stability of the perovskite film under heat and light conditions.

A new era in electrochemical sensing technology

At the forefront of scientific exploration, electrochemical sensing is an indispensable and adaptable tool that impacts a diverse range of industries. From life and environmental science to industrial material and food processing, the ability to quantify chemicals can provide greater insight, elevating safety, efficiency and awareness.

Daxxify maker Revance agrees to $924M buyout by private skin care company Crown Laboratories

After treading the commercial path alone for the past year and change, Revance Therapeutics, maker of the Botox rival Daxxify, has agreed to fly the Crown Laboratories flag.

Revance and Crown—a privately held skin care company with multiple marketed products of its own—are merging, the companies said in a release Monday.

Grinding machine eliminates variances in grinding due to temperature changes

The Swiss grinding experts from Tschudin are presenting what they say is a world first: a grinding machine with perfect heat transfer.

"We have been working consistently for three decades to reduce the heat transfer of our machines to a minimum. With the completely new grinding and regulating spindles made of carbon, we have now put the final piece of the puzzle in place. The CUBE 350 centerless external cylindrical grinding

Rösler UK and Pratt and Whitney optimize part finishing

At the Christchurch Engine Centre in New Zealand, surfacing solutions expert Rösler UK has worked with Pratt & Whitney to improve their shot blasting process.

The two companies worked to prepare surfaces of intricate features of rotating components, before plasma spray application of coatings, with a more agile solution with an emphasis on optimized process control.

CERN’s breakthrough experiment captures high-energy neutrinos for first time

Researchers have directly observed high-energy electron and muon neutrino interactions for the first time in the teraelectronvolt (TeV) energy range.

This landmark moment was achieved at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) using the Forward Search Experiment (FASER).

ADAS and autonomous vehicles with distributed aperture radar

The automotive landscape is evolving, and vehicles are increasingly defined by advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies. Moreover, radar is becoming increasingly popular for ADAS applications, offering multiple benefits over rival technologies such as cameras and LiDAR.

Magna Recommends Rejection of "Mini-Tender" Offer

Magna International Inc. (TSX: MG; NYSE: MGA) today reported that it has received notice of an unsolicited mini-tender offer made by TRC Capital Investment Corporation (“TRC Capital”) to purchase up to 2,000,000 Magna Common Shares, or less than 1% of Magna’s outstanding Common Shares, at a price of CDN $57.90 per share.

A new model offers robots precise pick-and-place solutions

Pick-and-place machines are a type of automated equipment used to place objects into structured, organized locations. These machines are used for a variety of applications — from electronics assembly to packaging, bin picking, and even inspection — but many current pick-and-place solutions are limited. Current solutions lack “precise generalization,” or the ability to solve many tasks without compromising on accuracy.
