Renault CEO warns of bigger price jump ahead as costs soar, Expansion reports

Luca de Meo, the recently appointed CEO of French carmaker Renault (RENA.PA), said a shortage in semiconductors and other rising costs are set to boost car prices, Spanish newspaper Expansion reported on Thursday.

"Prices will rise even more in the coming 12 months," he told the newspaper in an interview, as chip makers are taking advantage of the leverage scarcity is giving them.

Dutch aluminium maker Aldel to halt output due to power prices

Aldel is halting production of primary aluminium due to the current high electricity prices, the Dutch firm's chief executive said on Friday.

CEO Chris McNamee told Reuters its plant in Delfzijl, Netherlands, is winding down production now and will be idled from Monday until at least early 2022.

"We've got a squeeze on us now because we're not hedged, and we're not hedged because the Dutch government isn't giving us visibility on a level playing field," CEO Chris McNamee said.

Magna International ha anunciado que la junta directiva de Veoneer ha determinado que la propuesta anunciada por Qualcomm Incorporated para adquirir Veoneer por 37 dólares por acción (unos 32 euros) es una propuesta superior ante los términos del acuerdo de fusión previamente anunciado entre Magna y Veoneer.  

Asimismo, Magna ha renunciado al período de cuatro días para hacer una contrapropuesta. En consecuencia, Veoneer ha rescindido su acuerdo de fusión con Magna y se fusionará con Qualcomm.

La producción solar aumentó un 23% en la península ibérica durante el tercer trimestre de 2021 en comparación con el mismo trimestre del año 2020, mientras que en el mercado francés se registró un aumento del 6,4%. Por el contrario, en el mercado italiano la producción con esta tecnología fue un 2,5% inferior y en el mercado alemán terminó siendo muy similar a la registrada en el tercer trimestre de 2020.
