El PMI de agosto apunta a una contracción del 0,2% del PIB de la eurozona en el tercer trimestre

La actividad del sector privado de la zona euro se ha deteriorado sensiblemente durante el mes de agosto, cuando además de la caída de la actividad en el sector manufacturero también se ha registrado un empeoramiento en el sector servicios, según los datos adelantados del índice de gestores de compra (PMI), que sugieren una contracción del PIB de la eurozona del 0,2% en el tercer trimestre de 2023.

Las quiebras de empresas en la Unión Europea alcanzan máximos históricos

El número de empresas declaradas en quiebra en la Unión Europea (UE) se incrementó un 8,4% en el segundo trimestre de 2023 respecto de los tres meses anteriores, acumulando así seis trimestres consecutivos al alza para alcanzar el nivel más alto de toda la serie histórica, que se remonta al primer trimestre de 2015, según ha informado Eurostat.

Acerinox ha reducido su capital social en casi 2,6 millones de euros tras amortizar más de 10,38 millones de acciones propias que estaban en autocartera.

Teva, Glenmark ⁠reach $255M price-fixing settlement with DOJ, agree to offload certain meds

After admitting to running a price-fixing scheme as part of a deal with the Department of Justice, not only will generic makers Teva and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals pay hefty fines, but they'll also be forced to divest certain products.

The two companies reached a deferred prosecution agreement (DPA) with the government, meaning the U.S. will charge the companies but it won’t move forward with the case as long as Teva and Glenmark follow certain terms. If they hold up their end of the agreement, the charges will then be dismissed.

UK pumps £13M into wide-ranging group of manufacturing projects

Improved vaccines, cutting-edge mRNA medicines and accelerated drug production are at the heart of a new funding project in the U.K., where 17 companies have been selected for government grants to explore better ways to produce pharmaceuticals.

The companies are set to receive 13 million pounds sterling (about $16.6 million) from the Transformative Medicine Manufacturing program by Innovate UK, the U.K.’s innovation agency. The cash will be used to fuel a bevy of projects focused on nucleic acid medicines, intracellular drug delivery, digitalization and more.
