CAF puja con Alstom, Siemens y Stadler por un contrato de 3.500 millones de euros en Dinamarca

Ørsted joins Terra Solar to develop 400MW of new solar power in Ireland

Irish energy developer Terra Solar has partnered with Danish renewables firm Ørsted to develop a new 400MW portfolio of solar power projects in Ireland.

While the companies did not specify where in Ireland the projects would be built, Ørsted noted that it expects them to come online before 2030. The company also noted that some decisions still need to be made regarding the portfolio, including how and to whom it would sell power.

EDF Renewables buys commercial solar specialists SAS Energy

EDF Renewables UK has announced the purchase of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar specialist SAS Energy.

The company says it hopes to strengthen its position within the C&I sector to help more businesses to decarbonise their energy usage.

SAS Energy became a wholly owned subsidiary of EDF Renewables UK on 15 September, bringing its team of 30 solar experts and a portfolio of 45 projects in development and construction.

'Significant bottlenecks': EU has same amount of solar panels stockpiled as installed, says report

Europe is stockpiling the same amount of solar panels as it has deployed, a new report has found.

According to Rystad Energy's Freedom from Fossil Fuels report, 40 gigawatts (GW) of solar panels are stored in warehouses across the European Union, equivalent to what was installed across the 27-country bloc in 2022.

If these panels were installed, they could replace seven billion cubic metres (bcm) of fossil gas, which should rise to 15 bcm at the end of the year as Rystad Energy forecasts that the number of panels in storage should grow to 100 GW.

Bayer CEO plots management cuts as first step in larger overhaul

Just a few months into Bill Anderson's tenure as Bayer's CEO, the helmsman is reportedly looking to trim the drugmaker's management ranks.

Anderson is looking to usher in big changes at Bayer, but first he wants to show investors he's ready to act quickly, Reuters reports, citing three people "familiar with the matter." To that end, he's plotting management job cuts as a first step, according to the news service.

The CEO will reportedly present the initial plans at an upcoming internal strategy meeting. A Bayer spokesperson declined to comment on the matter.

Tesla supplier Hota to build first U.S. factory in New Mexico

Hota Industrial Manufacturing Co., a key supplier to Tesla and other U.S. automakers, said it will invest $99 million to build its first plant outside of Asia in New Mexico, citing greater emphasis on regional production in supply chains.

Hota, which makes gears and other auto components primarily in Taiwan, said it would begin construction on the factory in Santa Teresa, near the U.S. border with Mexico, early next year with mass production set for 2025.

UAW strikes ZF plant that supplies axles to Mercedes in Alabama

UAW early Wednesday struck a ZF Group plant in Tuscaloosa, Ala., that builds front and rear axles for Mercedes-Benz</a> vehicles built nearby.

It was not immediately clear what impact the strike is having on vehicle assembly at the automaker's Vance, Ala., plant, where it builds the GLE, GLS, EQE and EQS, according to the Automotive News Data Center.

In an email, Mercedes-Benz USA spokesperson Felyicia Jerald said the automaker is "monitoring the situation" but did not say if the strike was impacting vehicle assembly.
