Apple to scale back long awaited car, report says

Apple Inc. is switching to a less advanced design and once again delaying the launch of its long anticipated car, Bloomberg News reported.

The company is delaying the release of its electric vehicle, nicknamed The Titan, until 2028 and switching to a "Level 2+" autonomous driving systems, the report said.

Apple's original goal was to produce a Level 5 autonomous vehicle. Level 5 AVs have the highest level of automation and can function on any street in any condition without a driver present.

Stellantis buys CloudMade's AI tech to support vehicle software development

Stellantis has acquired the artificial intelligence framework and other assets of tech company CloudMade to support the development of its STLA SmartCockpit platform, the company said Wednesday.

The acquisition includes machine learning models, intellectual property rights and patents. Stellantis said 44 engineers and software developers from CloudMade who are dedicated to the development of AI technology will be joining the automaker.
