Researchers in Australia have compared the technical and financial performances of a hydrogen battery storage system and a lithium-ion battery when coupled with rooftop PV. They evaluated two commercially available systems – LAVO and Tesla Powerwall 2 – and found that the lithium-ion battery provides better financial profits, whereas the hydrogen battery offers more battery lifespan for long duration of energy storage.
Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK), the public transport authority of the German city of Cologne, has once again chosen Solaris for the supply of hydrogen-powered buses. Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has been chosen by ‘Le Mans Métropole’ to extend the existing Citadis trams of the city.

The high-tech company TRUMPF today signed a cooperation agreement with the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) of the University of Stuttgart. The aim of the agreement is to provide TRUMPF employees with the extensive computing capacities of the HLRS. "This cooperation shows that we in industrial Germany also have a powerful digital ecosystem.
At this year’s in-house INTECH exhibition, TRUMPF is presenting the “Runability Guide”, an initial version of a new AI-based solution that helps production employees run in the high-performance TruMatic 5000 punch laser machine more quickly and more easily. At present, when using the machine to produce a new order with a new geometry or from new materials, users must individually test the machine program.
Electric vehicle intenders want 20-minute charging times, a 350-mile driving range and to pay $50,000 for a car, according to a Boston Consulting Group study. Only one EV on the market — the Hyundai Ioniq 6 SE RWD Long Range model — meets those thresholds.
Automakers are losing thousands of dollars on every EV they sell, and for the most part not meeting consumer expectations for the vehicles, according to Boston Consulting Group.
